If you’re switching from iPhone to Android, you may need to figure out how to transfer your contacts. Here is a way to get it done.
Option 1 – Export from iCloud
If you were an iCloud user, use these steps.
- Login to your iCloud account from a web browser. It is recommended that you use Apple Safari, Firefox, or Internet Explorer in Compatibility View, as there can be problems exporting from Chrome.
- Select “Contacts“.
- Hold “CTRL” and select the contacts you wish to export. If you want all of them, hold “CTRL” and press “A” to highlight all of them.
- Select the gear in the lower-right corner, then choose “Export vCard…“
- Save the VCF file in a place where you can find it, such as your Desktop.
- Transfer the VCF file to your Android device.
- On your Android, open the “Contacts” app.
- Select “Menu“, then choose “Settings” > “Contacts” > “Import/Export contacts“.
- Choose the location where the VCF file is located, then choose to save contacts to “Phone” or “Google“.
Option 2 – Use Contacts Backup & Transfer
- From your iPhone, open the “App Store“.
- Download and install the “Contacts Backup & Transfer” app.
- Open the app, then tap the “Backup” button.
- Once the contacts are backed up, select the “Email” button.
- Type in your email address to send the contacts file to yourself.
- Open the email on your Android device, and download the attachment in the email.
- On your Android, open the “Contacts” app.
- Select “Menu“, then choose “Settings” > “Contacts” > “Import/Export contacts“.
- Choose the location where the VCF file is located, then choose to save contacts to “Phone” or “Google“.
